Daikin uses two main types: wired wall controllers (the BRC series, hard-wired to the unit and common on ducted, cassette and commercial systems) and infrared remote handsets (the ARC series, for wall-split systems). Each is matched to a specific model or range, and the controller has to speak the same language as your unit’s PCB — so the genuine, model-matched part matters. A blank screen, unresponsive buttons or no response to the remote are the usual signs a controller has failed (for a remote, rule out flat batteries first).
